And now what?

Imagine for a moment that you are a house. A well-structured and organized set of features that create what you are. What every person is. A sum of infinite elements leading to the mutable unity of yourself.

Every house needs a soul. The walls are thirsty for emotions, for energies to flow through them and make their molecules dance like crazy. Without laughter and shouting, without vibration, the house rots. It fills its air with the smells of abandonment and the tears that others look at and mistake for moisture. Without substance it would be a void in space and the void scares it more than anything.

So you spontaneously open your door, open your windows, let them come in to fill you. And there are many who will be at your doorstep waiting for you to let them in. They are souls wandering the narrow streets looking for open houses. Then, full of joy you will welcome them and be glad, so glad they have come. I wish it wasn’t the case for you, but that’s the way it is with all houses at first. Someone will happen to come into your house and not respect it as they should. He’ll behave in ways you didn’t expect and you’ll be stunned and watch him do their damage without caring.

That is the moment when you will be seriously troubled.

Then you realize that with the doors wide open, you are in danger, you are losing control.

So you decide to keep the house closed and depending on the damage done you take more or less severe measures. You put up fences and padlocks, you build high, solid walls to keep out the unwanted.

But now you’re thinking, how will you know who to let in? They all seem nice at first.

Not to mention you won’t be able to keep everyone in for as long as you want. What if they want to leave at some point? What if they all leave? Would the house stay empty? And on the other hand, you can’t be afraid all the time that someone might sneak in. That’s a torture. Keeping the house empty? Well, that’s certain death. With doors and windows closed, no light, you will soon be choked by your dense air. Smell of dust, dirt, tears and loneliness.

Look what you can do. You could, if you can bear it, put a little camera on the fence.

You can watch anyone who is interested in coming into your house from there, talk to them, perform some serious tests, and make them sign that they will take care of your house and give you nothing but joy while they are in it. That’s a very good idea. But you know what else you can do?

You can tear everything down. The walls, the doors, the windows, the ceiling, your entire property. You can decide that from now on you’re not a house. You are nothing. You have no structure, you have no matter. You have nothing to bind you. You have nothing to be afraid of losing, of souls taking it away. You belong to no one, only to everyone.

Now look around you. Is there anyone who scares you? Is there anything they can take from you? Everything you need is safe, because it just isn’t there.

Go now and dance free with the others and let your steps be all forward. You have a way to go after all.

Welcome.
